Guide Dogs for the Blind has more than 700 volunteers on our two campuses.
Campus volunteers must meet a minimum age requirement of 18 and commit to one year of service.
If you meet the requirements above, you are cordially invited to attend a volunteer orientation and discover the numerous avenues open to your individual talents. The orientation requires no obligation to volunteer. If you decide you'd like to pursue volunteering after attending the orientation, you will then have the opportunity to complete a volunteer application and schedule an interview with a member of our Volunteer Department staff. If it is determined that volunteering at GDB is a match of your skills and interests to our organization's needs, we will coordinate with you an appropriate volunteer job and schedule.
The orientations include
A brief overview of our program
A screening of the video, "Harnessing the Power of Partnership"
A discussion of current volunteer opportunities followed by a one-hour campus tour.
Reservations are required for all orientations; please complete our Volunteer Orientation Reservation form. For further information, call us at 800.295.4050 (when you call, please be sure to specify which campus: California or Oregon).
